How Can We Help?
Becoming Officially Recognized
If an Affinity Group would like to become officially recognized by BCA, they must meet the following basic criteria:
- Demonstrate sustained existence for a minimum of one year
- Roster of participants must include current BCA members-only
- Provide a clearly defined mission or purpose
- Be able to demonstrate your affinity
- Adhere to the requirements set forth in Section 4: Structure & Requirements
Becoming a BCA endorsed Affinity Group requires a few simple steps outlined below:
- Contact Joleen Jaworski to discuss your interest in having your group be officially recognized by BCA.
- The Chair (group leader) must submit the Affinity Group Application, which includes the following:
- The groups clearly defined mission or purpose, must include demonstration of the groups affinity
- The group’s leadership structure
- Current roster of participating members
- Initial By-laws or commitment documentation
- Documentation demonstrating at least one-year of substantiated existence
- The Affinity Group Chair (or leader) will meet with Joleen. The discussion will include review of the above mentioned materials.
- Once the above mentioned are received and follow-up meeting is held, the BCA Team will review the documents, and approve or decline the groups request (final bylaws must be submitted prior to official approval).
